Heard About Facebook’s New Graph Search?
Have you heard about Facebook's new graph search? It is a lot different than Google search. Facebook is changing all of the time and now you can do searches using particular keywords that has been shared with friend's content.
Facebook users do not know that you can SEO your Business Page like you can with your blog post. It is very easy to do. I am going to show you 8 ways you can optimize your page.
1. Your category page.
If you own a business or place, make sure you select the best category that fits your company. Go to your basic information settings and category is at the top of the page. There will be a drop down box and you select which one you think best describes your business or place.
2. Your Sub-category page.
You can find this underneath the category box. Remember, this is only if you own a business or place. You can add up to three sub-categories.
3. Make sure you address is complete.
If you are running a non-profit, business, etc, make sure you fill in your complete address. No PO Boxes. People who are looking for your brand or service, you will need your address so they can find you, especially if they are looking for someone local.
4. Complete your about section.
You want to complete your about section, make it brief and add a website. Put the URL to your website first and then add your description. Use keywords so it will be at the top when people are searching for you or your business.
I also fill my biography with keywords. Facebook is different than Google, you can have as many keywords that you want. I write my biography, space, and put in keywords that describes my business. I am a social media specialist so I use keywords that go with that topic: social media, Facebook, social media marketing, etc. You get the idea. Here is an example.
5. Tag your photos.
You want to tag your photos with your name and location of your photo. Photos are primary content displayed in Graph Search results.
6. Pay attention to your photo descriptions.
This is something I fail at. I use so many photos that I forget to put a description on them or a link. People love looking at photos and make comments on them. Google and Graph Search indexes the keywords in photos, so write a description on them.
7. Create a username.
If you are building a new page, you have to have 25 likes before you can choose a username. By putting a username in your URL, it makes it easier to be found on Google search and Facebook Graph Search.
8. Create Killer Content.
As I have said in past posts, create educational content for your users. You want to start building a relationship with them and make them into buying customers. So by posting great content, videos and photos, Facebook will rank you on how much engagement and how many people are talking about you.
