Have You Bought Facebook Likes?
Have you ever bought Facebook Likes? I think companies or even solopreneurs buy Facebook likes to show people they are an established business. Pages with only 50 likes may not get the attention they deserve.
When you buy Facebook likes, you are not getting quality fans. Most of those likes are not even real people. They are fake pages set up to protray real people. They only have a couple of friends and if you watch some of them, they use same pictures and just change the names. Who knows where they are getting the profile pictures from.
Why you shouldn't buy Facebook likes:
1. Is it ethical. Like I said, they are not real people and you will never hear from them. Don't you want your Brand to be authentic? You may only have 50 Facebook likes but your fanbase will grow as long as you create educational content for your fans. I would rather create Facebook Ads to target your niche market and create fans that are relevent to your Brand.
2. Statistics: If you are using your insights to help market your business, this will mess those stats up. Your fanbase may increase due to your purchase but who is talking about you is still low. This also effects your EdgeRank. You need engagement to help your posts show up in the newsfeed and you will not receive any engagement with fake profiles.
3. Value: What value are you getting? It is a waste of money. People who are creating fake Facebook profiles violates Facebook guidelines. Facebook bans these pages and you may see likes disappearing from your pages but don't invite people who will never read your posts. Invite people who would be interested in your niche. This could be friends, family or business associates.
2. Promote Your Page Online: If you have a website, you want to add a Facebook Like Box on your pages. If you are using other social media platforms, let people know what you have to offer and invite them over to like your page. You could in turn like their page. Many people are doing Fanpage Fridays, submit your page url and watch your likes increase. Add your Facebook page as a signature box in your e-mails, under your blog posts or create Facebook ads.
3. Promote Your Page Offline: If you have a local business, you can add a sign in your window to like your Facebook page, put your Facebook URL on your business cards, and on receipts.
4. Run Contests and Offers: Contests and a free offer are great ways to go viral and get people to engage with your Brand. By getting people to engage with your page you create a story that is being shared with their friends. Your likes will increase naturally.
5. Provide Value: As you have heard me say over and over again, create value. Don't push your opportunity on people, create educational content that solves a problem for your fans. Create a page that shows you as an expert. You also need to be human and funny as well.
6. Facebook Ads: You can create Facebook Ads to increase Facebook Likes. You can create ads that target people in your niche.
NO NOT BUY FACEBOOK LIKES!

I’ve heard of this before, but dismissed the idea immediately. Anything false will do you no good in the end. It’s like throwing money away.
I totally agree. Anita
Good post Anita and I agree, not the best idea.
I think many people do it though, to build a starting foundation. Not that it’s an excuse, just that a facebook profile with no likes can be a ghost town.
It certainly is and who wants to get banned from Facebook as that would be social media suicide. Anita
Great post! I bought them three times and got about 3 likes out of them LOL I never really investigated any further, I just knew they didn’t work for me. You’ve got some good reasons listed here! I won’t be purchasing any more, that’s for sure!
Your welcome. Driving Facebook ads to your target market is a great way to get Facebook likes. Anita
Hey Anita
good post. I think it´s a general virus 😉 buying twitter followers, buying leads, buying fans…..I found it quiet odd the first time I received a mail to buy fans, it could not quiet grab the purpose of it. I thought social media was all about sharing ad interacting? Anyways good post. Have a great weekend and happy new year
I have never thought of the virus aspect of it. Thanks for sharing that with me. Have a great New Year too. Anita
