- Use a great headline. An example: "Discover How An Ex-State Trooper Is Building Her List Using Facebook" or "Discover How An Ex-State Trooper Recruited 10 People Into Her Company In A Week."
- Convey the value of the offer. Give them a reason to download your offer, it could be a video or bullet points. An example: 1. Discover how to build a landing page that converts 2. Learn how to build an optimized Facebook Page. OR Hit on pain points An example: 1. Stop struggling and make the money you deserve 2. Stop missing your child's baseball games and have more freedom by working at home.
- Keep your visitors focused. Remove any distractions that will take the focus away from them giving you their information. When I first started, my website was covered with affiliate banners. It was like a neon sign that you would see in Vegas. No wonder I was not getting the leads, they had no idea what I was offering. My page was one big distraction. Keep your pages clean and to the point. The shorter the better.
- Use sharing links to encourage people to spread the word about your offer. When I post on Facebook and want engagement, ask them to like, share or comment. On my website after a blog post, I ask people to comment in the boxes below. People will not share or comment unless you ask them to.
- Design your form to capture your visitor's information so you will be able to follow up with them and qualify the lead.
- Follow Up: When the form is filled out, take them to an autoresponder e-mail where they have to subscribe, and then send them to a thank you page where you can do a one time upsell. Make sure you are keeping them engaged with follow up e-mails.
- Track your conversion rates. Aweber, an autoresponder I use, tracks who opens and who does not open your e-mails. They also collect your leads. Use this information so you can make improvements. It is always a work in progress.
How To Optimize Your Landing Pages. (Part 1)
In the last couple of blog posts, I have discussed about your free offer and how to make your opt in box noticeable. Today, I am going to talk about how important it is to create a great landing pages for your offer.
As most of you know, landing pages are where you are sending people when they opt-in to your free offer, an e-book, video or how to series. It is so important that you create a unique landing page for each of your offers.
Your goal with creating landing pages is to achieve a higher precentage of your visitors into leads. These pages allow your visitors a simpler way of retrieving your offer without having to navigate around your website to find your offer. Frustrated visitors will leave your page and chances are, will not return. Keep the process simple and visitors are more likely to complete the form and become a lead.
There are several key components that go into writing an effective landing page. Here are a few techniques.
