My Story Of My Journey

My Journey Begins:

A year ago last August 2011, I was looking on line for a business opportunity.  Quite frankly, I wanted to build a business and eventually help others do the same.

I was on Facebook one day and a friend of mine wrote a post, how would you like to make $500 more a month.  Of course I wanted to make $500 a month, who wouldn't.  I responded yes and wanted to know more about it.

A few days later she called me with her business pitch.  It was a health and wellness business using all natural products.  I thought great, people are looking for ways to become healthier and going green was the way to go.  I signed up but there was one catch, you could not use the companies name to recruit people into the business or advertise it.  WOW! How was this going to work?

I started calling all of my friends and family trying to get them to listen to my pitch.  Well, you can imagine how well that went.  Hunting down people is definitely not a way to build a business but that is how they wanted you to recruit people, cold calling and bugging everyone you come into contact with.  That was not for me.  I did recruit a couple of people but you do not make any money off people unless they recruit people into their business.  One couple just loved the products but did not want to build a business and the other person wanted to build a business but was having the same struggles I was having.  Sound familiar?

Don't get me wrong, the company and their products were great but I knew I had to find a better way to build a business online or at least, find a way to market this company.  As you can probably figure out, I made a whopping $20.  Like that was going to get me out of debt.

I went back online surfing the internet trying to find ways to market this business without violating their rules.   I found an ad on how to attract customers to you instead of being the hunter, you become the hunted.  I thought, it could not hurt, I knew cold calling was not for me.  This system was called Magnetic Sponsoring and Mike Dillard was the CEO at the time.  So I bought the $35 book.

This book contained all the information you needed to get a business up and running and how to start building a list.  But being brand new and had no experience what so ever online, I thought I had to put all the components in place at the same time.  You probably can figure it out, I got overwhelmed.  Later, I found out that most Guru's online started out with Magnetic Sponsoring and have this book as a guide.  It is a great affiliate program for someone starting out new and need leads.  You you would like to find out more regarding this program, you can go here.

So I decided I would put all these components to work, blog, social media, article marketing and more.  I had no idea what I was doing.  I hated to write but new I would have to learn if I wanted to succeed.  You should of seen my first blog, it was dark, had affiliate banners all over it and most of the articles on it was not written by me.  I know pathetic, right. As you can see, I have a new blog and much cleaner.

By December on 2011, I was so frustrated that I almost quit.  I was not making any money and was spending way too much time on the computer.  I was trying to do it all and it was just me doing it.  I signed up for a webinar dealing with social media.  I heard those magic words, pick ONE strategy and master it before you move one.  OH MY WORD, that was a blessing.  Now I had to figure out which strategy I was going to use.
