The Journey Continues:
When I left off the other day, I was overwhelmed and was trying to do all the strategies all at once. To make this successful, I would need an army of me to get it all done.
Remember those magic words, pick ONE strategy, master it to build your business then move on. I was not so overwhelmed anymore.
Big question now, what strategy should I use to start building a business? I was already on Facebook and thought, this was going to be easy. I had quite a few friends and I love dealing with people.
Problem! I found out that building a Facebook Business Page was not as easy as I thought and after I have it built, how do I get people to like my page and know that I exist. Can you see the stress building again? I knew I wanted to stay with Facebook because I tried blogging and knew no one was showing up there. At least in Facebook, I had some people that knew me and could at least like my page.
Again, I was struggling. I was still no further ahead then when I started.
The magic words I had heard that evening was from a Facebook Guru. I bought their course and studied it and built my page step by step the way it is explained in the course. I bought a third party app so I could build my landing pages. I did everything I was suppose to. I even learned how to build my likes with Facebook Ads. I was also placed in a support Facebook group where I learned more about marketing on Facebook.
I spent all my time tweaking my page to where I wanted it up and functioning the way it should. I still had a full time job. I would work all day then come home and work on my business most of the evening.
Not only did I have my full time job, I also worked two part time jobs as well. I am a retired State Trooper. I was a Trooper for 20 years. When I retired I still had to work as my children were young, and could not live off my retirement alone. My husband also works in law enforcement and did not make a lot of money. I knew I did not want to work all these jobs for the rest of my life. I wanted something better.
This is why I went online. I wanted a better life for my family. I made that comment one day and my youngest daughter heard me and said "We have a good life." I had to explain to her we did have a great life, but financially we could be doing better. I have two daughters and they are both in college. If you have children in college, it is very expensive. They both go to private colleges which is approximately 15 to 20 thousand dollars more than a local university. I had no way how I was going to help them with their education. Believe it or not, my oldest daughter had to get the loan for my youngest daughter to attend college as our credit was in the toilet. You know how embarrassing that is?
The reason I am telling you this, is that a lot of people are in the same boat as I am. I want to be able to help people and steer them in the right direction as I don't want you to struggle the way that I did.
I think I will continue this another day.
