The Ultimate Blog Challenge Was A Big Success.
If you have not heard of the Ultimate Blog Challenge, you should. One of my goals this year was to write a blog post each day in January. I have succeeded in doing that and actually am still writing one a day.
I knew in order to succeed in accomplishing my goal, I needed to be accountable. I had never heard of the Ultimate Blog Challenge before until a friend of mine posted on Facebook about this challenge and thought I would check it out. This was the best thing I could of done this year.
Not only was this the best move for me, but I have been able to read and comment on other blogs. Over these past 33 days, I have read some amazing blog posts and saw creativity in the themes people were using. I have never received a comment on my blog until joining this challenge. You will never know how much it meant to me to read my first comment.
I know having a blog is one of the tools you need to market your business. It is not one of my strengths. I have been building my business using Facebook and other social media platforms for the last year and a half. My blog is still a work in progress and I know it looks like a 5 year old put it together compared to the blog themes other people are using. A friend and business partner of mine is currently putting together a theme to rebuild my blog for me so it doesn't look like a puzzle.
I was a little disappointed that the challenge was going to end the last day of January but I am glad that other bloggers wanted to continue. So because of that, I am staying focused, posting everyday, and making comments. Even though I know that commenting on people's posts is an important task, but I just did not have the courage or the know how on what I should be doing.
I am so focused on where my business is going this year. Not only am I getting people to my blog, whether it is to make a comment or just visiting to receive the free offers, but am building my fan base on Facebook as well.
Another goal of mine was to be a guest blogger. My blog post is going to be displayed on Aletha McManama's blog this week, here is the link. http://alethadmcmanama.com. I wrote an article on using Tumblr as a social media platform. I hope you get a chance to check it out.
I also have two more goals that I wanted to accomplish in the first few months of this year. One was do build a children's Facebook Page which I have done. Check it out here: http://facebook.com/thenorthpoleelves.com There will be a website built in the next couple of months with a product line.
The other goal was to build a social media membership site. I have built it and now uploading the training videos. I still have some more to create but am proud of what I have accomplished. The membership site was not as bad as I thought. I am not a techie person but it has been fun building it.
Now that I have gone on about my goals and challenges, I would love to hear what your goals were for this year. Please leave your comments in the boxes below.

Good for you for completing the challenge! My goal for the year is also to increase the content for my blogs and pick up more freelance work (my guess is the two might be related). Cheers!
I think so to. Thanks for the comment Jennifer. Anita
